Debating Emancipation (Grades 5-12)
Participants recreate the July 22, 1862 emancipation policy meeting.
Lincoln's Hat (Grades 3-5)
Students practice President Lincoln's pre-writing technique. Storing ideas in a top hat, students tour the site and participate in a writing activity.
Lincolns_Hat.pdf- Programs meet DC, VA, MD and McREL learning standards. Pre- and post-visit materials included.
- Cost per class (up to 25 students): DCPS: $100 / Non-DCPS: $150.
- Classroom teacher or Tour leader free, adults $10 each. One (1) adult for every 10 students required.
